As an illustrator, I have always been drawn (excuse the pun) to working with conservation companies that focus on preserving and protecting our planet's wildlife. The opportunity to use my artistic skills to raise awareness about the importance of animal conservation is incredibly rewarding, and it is something that is very important to me.
One of the most important aspects of illustrating for conservation companies is the ability to communicate complex scientific information in a way that is easy for the general public to understand. Many conservation organizations rely on data and research to support their efforts, but this information can be difficult for people to grasp without the help of visual aids. As an illustrator, I am able to take this data and turn it into something that is both beautiful and informative.
Animal are an integral part of our planet's ecosystem, and their survival is essential to the health of the environment. From the smallest insects to the largest mammals, every species plays a unique role in maintaining balance in their respective ecosystems. Unfortunately, human activities such as deforestation, pollution, and poaching are putting many species at risk of extinction. As an illustrator, I have the opportunity to raise awareness about these issues and inspire people to take action to protect these animals.
I have had the pleasure of working for some fantastic NGO's and conservation organisations.
For the past 7 years I have worked along side NGO Bats without Borders, I have digitally
illustrated a number of PR bats for them to be used in their educational materials for children
and schools in South Africa. These have been aimed to change public impression of bats and to ultimately help guide people to preserve them rather than persecute. These illustrations have been used to varying materials such as posters, blogs, leaflets, tshirts, bags, mugs, booklets,
social media posts, website graphics etc.

Illustrating for conservation companies is not only important for the animals, but also for the future of our planet. The loss of biodiversity can lead to a wide range of negative consequences, including the destabilization of ecosystems, loss of potential medicinal resources, and even the loss of cultural heritage. By working with conservation organizations, I am able to contribute to the efforts to protect and preserve the planet's biodiversity for future generations.
Last year one of my favorite projects was illustrating a series of UK amphibians for ARC (Amphibian and Reptile Trust). These cute charters were illustrated in a digital format with traditional watercolour twist.
Illustrating for conservation companies is a powerful way to raise awareness about the importance of animal conservation. The opportunity to use my artistic skills to make a difference in the world is something that is truly special to me, and I am honored to be a part of the conservation movement. I encourage other artists to consider using their talents to support conservation efforts and help protect the planet's wildlife for future generations.
